There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place, where colors are brighter, the air softer and the morning more fragrant than ever again.
After I read this, I decided to create a garden atmosphere for the baby shower...I started by designing and sending out this garden themed baby shower invitation. Not only did I carry the garden theme through for the decor, but I also made sure the colors I used went with what I chose for the garden baby shower invitation:

I was hoping that we could have the baby shower outside in my garden, but with iffy weather in Utah in April, we ended up celebrating indoors.
Even though I knew the shower would be indoors, I tried to make the entrance feel like gates to a garden. I hung lanterns filled with pansies on Shepard's hooks on my walk:

Because I didn't have a long table for everyone to sit, I tried to put garden decor elements throughout my home to make it feel more like the outdoors. I used grass (synthetic of course), butterflies, bunnies, flowers and a small table top fountain for the sound of water.

I also did not have any games at this baby shower. I did, however, ask each guest to introduce themselves and share a memory that they loved doing as a kid. I asked guests to share because "Kids grow like weeds and giving the mom-to-be some great ideas of how to spend time with her son will help to create lasting memories." The answers varied from playing in the mud to creating forts and everyone seemed to have a great time reflecting upon such happy memories.
The baby shower was a success and I hope that the mom-to-be had a wonderful day. I had a great time planning the party, but also a wonderful time celebrating this special occasion. I hope that this garden-themed post has inspired you for your next garden party.

Thanks for your comments. I actually borrowed the bunnies from a friend-she found them at Pier 1 Imports.
this is too cute. I am planning on doing a bee baby shower and would like to know where you purchased the synthetic grass??
The grass was purchased at a variety of places. One was Peir 1 and the other was at a local craft store. Out in my neck of the woods, it is Michaels. Hope that helps.
